Book Bag

For the book bag, I did King Lear. My props were:
Protagonist Board: Labeled the good characters.
Antagonist Board: Labeled the antagonists.
Conflict Board: Showed some conflicts of the play.
Eye Ball: Represents conflict in which Cornwall gouges out Gloucester's eyes.
Cloth: Represents conflict in which Lear is left in storm and comes to a realization.
Doll w/ sword: the resolution to several conflicts (and conflicts themselves).
Crown: the royalty/nobility of most of the characters.
Skull pouch: the death of many of the characters.

The Tempest

 The Tempest is the enthralling tale of Prospero, a magician and the former Duke of Milan. Twelve years before the play takes place, Prospero's brother stole his dukedom and forced him to flee. In the present, Alonso, King of Naples, Antonio, Prospero's brother, Gonzalo, a good noble, and a few others shipwreck on an desert island, caused by a magical storm. Prospero has his spirit servant, Ariel, bring Ferdinand, the Prince of Naples, to him. Eventually, Ferdinand falls in love with Miranda, Prospero's daughter, and they plan to get married. Meanwhile, the other nobles are searching for Ferdinand. Using his magic, Prospero guides the nobles to him and makes them give his dukedom back. The play ends with the nobles repenting for the foul deeds.

  King Lear's plot is started when Lear, the king of Britain, divides his kingdom in thirds: One part for himself, one part for the Duke of Albany, and the third for the Duke of Cornwall. Lear's eldest daughters, Regan and Goneril, flatter their father in an attempt to increase their inheritance, whereas Cordelia, Lear's youngest daughter, has nothing to say. Because of this, Lear disowns Cordelia, though the King of France marries her afterward. Soon afterward, the Earl of Gloucester's illegitimate son, Edmund, schemes to trick Gloucester into disowning his older son Edgar by showing Gloucester a false letter. Meanwhile, Lear tries to stay at Goneril's house, but Goneril shuns him and takes half of his knights. Lear then attempts to stay at Regan's house, but she takes another half and leaves him out in a storm. Kent, who was banished for standing up for Cordelia and disguised himself as one of Lear's servants, stays with Lear and takes him to a hut in the forest, where the disguised Edgar is hiding. Eventually, Gloucester, against the orders of Cornwall and Regan, tries to harbor Lear in his house. Edmund, in yet another attempt to gain power, reveals Gloucester's deed. As a result of this, Cornwall gouges out Gloucester's eyes. Eventually, France invades England, and in the battle, Edmund captures Lear and Cordelia, who are both sentenced to death. The play ends with Edmund's treachery revealed, Goneril and Regan dying because of their own wickedness, and the death of Lear and Cordelia.

Two Sentence Summary: King Lear divided his kingdom into three. His choice caused the end of him and many others.

 We are Witnesses tells the story of five teenagers who died in the Holocaust. They all ended up in concentration camps and all were gassed. We only know about them through their diaries: David was outdoorsy, Yitzhak was a Communist Jew who absolutely loved school, Moshe thought the Jews would recieve salvation only when the Germans had won but shifted his view when he saw a movie called "Jew Suss." The remaining stories are of Eva and the infamous Anne Frank, whose family kept running from the Nazi but were eventually caught. All five were equally depressing and died equally tragic deaths.

Thus my enrichment reading total comes to 911.

When Bilbo Baggins is visited by an old friend of his and he turns down an adventure with him, Bilbo's house literally becomes a dwarf party. The 13 dwarves convince the reluctant Bilbo to adventure with them, and Bilbo is told to meet with them the following morning at The Green Dragon, a pub. On their adventure, the company encounters some benevolent characters, like Elrond the Elf and Beorn the Bear-Man. However, there are far more malevolent characters, such as the hobbit-like creature known as Gollum, who nearly tricks Bilbo into allowing himself to get eaten. The ultimate goal of the quest is to reclaim the dwarf-hold of the Lonely Mountain, which had become the Desolation of Smaug the Dragon. In the end, Smaug is killed and the Lonely Mountain is taken back.

Bilbo Baggins was turning 111 and Frodo Baggins was turning 33 when it began. Frodo learned that the ring Bilbo had found on his adventure was actually the One Ring crafted by evil Sauron to destroy Middle Earth. Frodo sets out for the House of Elrond to attend a councel on how the Ring should be destroyed. After many hardships and meeting the good ol' Tom Bombadil, Frodo finally arrived at the House of Elrond. At the councel, Frodo learned that the only way to destroy the One Ring is to throw it into the fires from whence it came, Mount Doom in Mordor. Frodo becomes the leader of the Company of the Ring and sets out for Mordor. The Company must pass through the evil Mines of Moria and the good forest of Lothlorien and arrives at two diverged paths: one to Gondor to fight in the War of the Ring, the second to destroy the Ring in Mordor. Frodo and his faithful servant Sam set out for Mordor...

Holocaust Project

Here is my soundtrack for my Holocaust book.

Theme of SA- I chose this for the Holocaust in general. The beginning's low point represents the darkness and sadness at the beginning of the Holocaust. The happier part towards the end is the hope that the Allied forces would defeat the Germans.

Suite for Harpsichord- The sound of the harpsichord helps bring an image of sadness to the mind. I chose this for when the Jewish are captured and sent to ghettos/ concentration camps.

Adagio for Strings- This is one of the most sadistic pieces of music I could find. It represents the death of the Jewish in concentration camps.

Tanzia

                                  
       To start off, the name. Tanzia. This has nothing at all to do with my name, only the history.Tanzia is the name of the rebellion leader who lost her life allowing the planet to exist.

                                                History
    Long ago, in a dark, dying, universe, there were fourteen sparks of Tanzian Magic. One day, the last star in that universe died. The special thing about this death, though, was that the star created a hypernova. The sparks of Tanzian magic somehow interacted with the hypernova, and that universe got a whole lot brighter.
    The first galaxy to emerge from the blinding flashes of light was eventually going to be called Tanzia-Omega*. It included the star Tz-1 and the planet Tanzia. Tanzia-Omega is unique because it is one of the few galaxies that were sprinkled with bits of Tanzian magic, enabling life to flourish.
    Tanzia is a special planet because of its fertile land, valuable elements like Tanzianite, diversity of wildlife, and natural wonders. These make its economy (tax free) much better than most other planets. However, the people of Tanzia do not generally like tourists, so tourism isn't a big industry.

*Greek is basically the Yiddish of Tanzia. Omega was copied from Tanzian.

    For its first ten thousand years or so, Tanzia was at general peace, besides the occasional warring of the clans/political parties. Then the Wererats came. The Wererats were a vicious species that attacked Tanzians as they fell from meteors. Once a sustainable army of them was on the ground, they engulfed the planet in war. 990,000 Tanzians were enslaved and 500,000 were killed.
   Tanzia, the leader of the rebellion against Wererats, desperately strived for peace. After several years of war, she led an attack on the Wererat Main Fortress. She and her enchanted axe greatly weakened the Wererat Sovereign to the point where Aleron, the general whose incarnation, name, and wisdom were passed through all following rulers, could finish it off. The Sovereign was defeated, but Tanzia lost her life in the final battle.

    Recently, Tanzia has formed an alliance with the nations of Gladitorian, Magnasia, and Edtragnia, forming the GTMEU, or Gladitorian-Tanzian-Magnasian-Edtragnian Union. The GTMEU is working on the issue of Slaveron (Slay-Vehr-Ohn) and his dark menace.

                                     Geography
    The capital of Tanzia is Tanzianite City. It is located on top of a volcano called Mount Sky. There is no light pollution at night except for a dim, red glow. Surrounding Mount Sky is a forest often called The Maze due to its size and probability of getting lost. However, there are several outposts in the treetops that are connected by ziplines.
     Aquamarine Falls is a estuary and waterfall in the northern part of the Tanzianite Region. It has wonderful waves ranging in size from one inch/ 2.52 centimeters to twenty feet/ 6 meters. It is a very popular swim destination. 
    Skull Mountain is the fortress of the Skull Vylcary, leader of a malevolent group that wishes to overthrow the line of Aleron. It is impossible to infiltrate because of its cavernous insides. If one manages to reach the base, he/she will be mercilessly tortured until death.
